Otis McAllister, Inc. Explores Purchasing Cambodian Milled Rice for U.S. Markets

PHNOM PENH, June 4, 2024 – Otis McAllister, Inc., an American corporation, is currently evaluating the prospect of importing Cambodian milled rice to supplement its market supply in the United States.

This potential partnership was discussed at a meeting on June 3 at the Raffles Hotel Le Royal in Phnom Penh, involving the Minister of Commerce, Mrs. Cham Nimul, and Mr. Patrick Murphy, Executive Vice President of Rice and Grains/Global Sourcing at Otis McAllister, Inc.

During the meeting, Mrs. Nimul urged the 16 major rice exporting firms, members of the Cambodia Rice Federation, to work closely with Otis McAllister, Inc. to finalize an agreement for supplying milled rice to the American market promptly.

Mr. Murphy expressed his admiration for Cambodia’s economic advancements and the quality of Cambodian milled rice, noting that the reality of Cambodia’s progress and the standard of its rice production were contrary to what he had previously heard.
